Trello vs Monday.com: Pricing Compared in 2026

Verified 2026-07-27  ·  by Sebastian Bru

Both tools do broadly the same job. The gap that matters for most teams is what they cost once seat minimums and user caps are applied.

What each one costs your team

Cheapest paid plan from each, on annual billing, with vendor seat minimums included.

Team sizeTrelloMonday.comCheaper
5 people$25/mo$45/moTrello, by $20/mo
20 people$100/mo$180/moTrello, by $80/mo
50 people$250/mo$450/moTrello, by $200/mo

Trello plans

The simplest tool here, and the cheapest paid tier in the category. Fine for straightforward boards, thin once you need reporting or dependencies.

FreeFreeUp to 10 boards per workspace
Standard$5
Premium$10
Enterprise$17.50Minimum 50 seats

Monday.com plans

Highly visual and easy to adopt. The pricing looks cheap per seat until you hit the three-seat minimum and the automation limits.

PlanPer user / monthLimits

Basic$9Minimum 3 seats
Standard$12Minimum 3 seats
Pro$19Minimum 3 seats

What neither pricing page tells you

Trello: Enterprise requires a minimum of 50 seats and a $10,000 annual commitment. There is no path between Premium and Enterprise for a 30-person company.
Trello: The free plan limits you to 10 boards per workspace, not 10 boards total, which is easy to misread.
Monday.com: Every paid plan requires a minimum of 3 seats. A solo user on Basic pays $27 a month, not $9.
Monday.com: Seats are sold in blocks. Going from 3 to 4 people can force you into the next pricing tier.
Before you compare on price alone The cheapest plan is not the same plan on both sides. Check what each tier actually includes before treating these numbers as equivalent.
